Treasured Thursdays: Most Treasured Faeries

Treasured Thursday is a weekly event created by Touya over at The Reader's Garden that is all about our most treasured. I'm hosting it here now, for those of you who are interested in joining me. This week our topic is our most treasured fairy/faerie novel/series.

I'll be honest; I'm not the biggest paranormal reader anymore. I used to be, but there are so many vampire stories and werewolf stories out there and most of them are just the same things with different words, and maybe something tweaked from the last book I picked up. Don't scowl; you know you've thought it too. But, that being said, I have a ginormous soft-spot for stories involving the fey. Because there are a billion different ways to write it! You can see them, you can't; they grow out of flowers; they're at war; etc., etc. It remains entertaining.

That being said, I will share with you all my most treasured; Wings, by Aprilynne Pike.

Wings is an entirely new version of Faeries, for me. It's the first I've read like this - and I've read a few. It's not the classic story of, "I bounce around from flower to flower helping things grow I'm friends with bees" blah blah. It's new, fresh, and the triangle going on? Unf. I always pick a side, quite easily in books, and I do...when she's with David, I'm Team David, when she's with Tamani, I'm Team Tamani.. This counts as "choosing", right? No? ...Well, let me get farther along in the series and quit shaking your head- they are both hot and sweet and earnest and...and...why are they fictional?

Ahem, minor rant over. Point being; Wings is a suspenseful, gripping the book and trying to read faster kind of novel, and I love it! I can't wait to get my hands on "Spells"! (I know I'm behind, shh)

This is my most treasured, what's yours?

  1. My favorite is The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa! Every book captivated me and I was sad when it ended! I felt like I lost friends lol!

    1. That's on my list! :D I swear, there's just not enough time in the day to read everything... Hm. And haha! Don't worry about that, I know the feeling when a series ends...makes me sad.
