Review: Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz

Deadly Little Secret
Touch #1
Laurie Faria Stolarz
Published: December 16th, 2008 by Hyperion

Until three months ago, everything about sixteen-year-old Camelia's life had been fairly ordinary: decent grades; an okay relationship with her parents; and a pretty cool part-time job at an art studio downtown. But when Ben, the mysterious new guy, starts junior year at her high school, Camelia's life becomes far from ordinary.

Rumored to be responsible for his ex-girlfriend's accidental death, Ben is immediately ostracized by everyone on campus. Except for Camelia. She's reluctant to believe he's trouble, even when her friends try to convince her otherwise. Instead she's inexplicably drawn to Ben...and his touch. But soon, Camelia is receiving eerie phone calls and strange packages with threatening notes. Ben insists she is in danger, and that he can help -- but can he be trusted? She knows he's hiding something...but he's not the only one with a secret. (Goodreads)

Now, it's been a few years since I've read this, but I still remember the details pretty clearly. So bare with me, for those who have started it lately. I am currently rereading it and  wish to discuss :)

Deadly Little Secret centers around Camelia, whose life is thrown into the whirlwind when Ben arrives. The book is packed with twists and suspense, and though I wasn't the quickest whip with them when I read this, I can say I am still shocked by the outcome. (This is what sucks about reviewing shocking books...you can't really talk about it without spoiling anything.)

This will be the second time I am reading it, and I will definitely be continuing with the series. I love Laurie's writing style, and I am in dire need of a good shudder lately, with all the paranormal and/or romance I've been reading lately.

This is one of my favorite thriller YA novels and I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a good scare! Love it.
