Descension is the first book in The Mystic Series by B.C. Burgess. While tossing up blog tours with Mel, I snatched this one up-- I've been dying to read a good witch story lately, so my expectations were high. While the writing is good and the plot is not weak, I never made friends with it. And it's all just personal preference-- I'm almost positive at least 90% of you all would love this.

Let me explain-- The only reason I do not love this novel is the love story and the similarities to another set of books I did not like at ALL, so I found myself comparing the two. So my slight "blah" here is all self inflicted...

The good: Descension is a detailed story with a difficult and interesting love story, with a great twist and intriquing plot. And even though I wasn't blown away, I will definately be sticking with the series!
