I have to admit right off the bat that the main reason I even glanced twice at this book was it's title. I'm a huge fan of The Cure and I immediately said "OOH I MUST read this book!" And then I read the synopsis and I was completely hooked. Who hasn't wished to step into someone else's shoes for just a day? To escape their own past and present issues; to simply get lost for a little while in someone else's reality. I know I have. And I'm sure most of you have as well.
The story is told from the perspective of Jenny Shaw, the main character in Why Can't I Be You?. I cannot even begin to express how much I absolutely LOVED this book and Jenny's character. She is funny, quirky and really easy to relate to. At first, I was shaking my head at her but after a few chapters, I was cheering her on and hoping she could somehow find a way to stay Jessie Morgan without anyone getting hurt.
I devoured this book in an afternoon, I could not put it down. This book was absolutely heartbreakingly wonderful from beginning to end. Not a misstep in the entire story.I loved it. Funny and fast-paced, Jenny's story pulls you in and sinks its teeth into your heart. My emotions ran the gamut while I read-crying one second and laughing out loud the next. I have been telling everyone I know about it ever since. So, dear readers I will tell you, as well. Go out NOW and find this book and READ it! I promise, you will not regret it!
