Christy Sloat, author of The Many Lives of Avery Snow was nice enough to answer a few questions for us!
Mel: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Christy: I wanted to be so many things: A palientologist, a pediatrician and then go into the Air Force. All the while I drew, read and wrote. I think all along this was my passion I just hadnt figured it out yet.
Mel: What are you reading right now?
Christy: This very moment I am reading Shiver, by Maggie Steifvater. I am really enjoying it so far.
Mel: Who is your very favorite literary character? Why?
Christy: My favorite would have to be Bella Swan. She sacrifices herself for her child in the end. That's beautiful. She is alot like me, she is clumsy and unsure of herself, but in the end she knows just what she is meant to do!
Mel: What is your favorite show on tv right now?
Christy: Its a toss up between Revenge and Once Upon a Time. They're both too good to choose just one.
Mel: What, in your opinion, is the hardest part of the writing process?
Christy: The fear of putting your book out into the world for all to read and review. It's a scary thing to expose your mind to the world and wait for them to tell you what they thought of it.
