Author Appreciation Day 20:The Very Talented Veronica Rossi

Today we are all about showing love to the wonderfully talented, Veronica Rossi, author of Under The Never Sky. For those of you have been reading since we started, you know how I feel about this book-if you haven't read it yet-GO NOW, yes, I mean NOW and get it and read it. You'll thank me later. :)
Veronica Rossi's Website
I found out about Veronica from a friend and fellow blogger, Touya from The Reader's Garden.  I'm ashamed to say I hadn't heard anything about it, but in my defense, I am still trying to catch up on last year's reading list..so please be patient with me. :) We decided to do a group review of the book and so I picked it up. I think it took me like a day and a half of reading on breaks and after work and I was done. I really loved it. That doesn't seem a strong enough sentiment, honestly. It was one of the best books I've read so far this year & I honestly don't know if there will be many to compete with it. I promise to stop gushing now.

I really do adore Veronica and let me tell you why, aside from the whole she's an amazingly talented writer who has created characters that I adore thing..uhum. Yes, no gushing. Anyway, when I finished Under The Never Sky, I felt like I was going to explode from happiness. I just wanted to tell the author how much I loved her book. So I messaged her on facebook, not expecting anything, just wanted to let her know, she's doing a great job and I can't wait for the next book. I was shocked when she responded and told me I'd made her day. I think I grinned like an idiot for like a day.

From Amazon.com:

Since she’d been on the outside, she’d survived an Aether storm, she’d had a knife held to her throat, and she’d seen men murdered. This was worse.

Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland—known as The Death Shop—are slim. If the cannibals don’t get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She’s been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He’s wild—a savage—and her only hope of staying alive.

A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile—everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria’s help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.

In her enthralling debut, Veronica Rossi sends readers on an unforgettable adventure set in a world brimming with harshness and beauty.

Like I said, guys, if you haven't read this book yet, make it a priority!
